Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against iRobot for Alleged Securities Fraud.
A class action lawsuit has been initiated against iRobot Corporation (IRBT) by the law firm Bragar Eagel & Squire on behalf of investors who bought or traded iRobot securities between January 29, 2024, and March 11, 2025. The lawsuit asserts that iRobot disseminated false or deceptive information during this period, and interested investors have until September 5, 2025, to request to be lead plaintiff in the case.
The suit, filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleges that iRobot exaggerated the potential benefits of its restructuring plan in the wake of the failed Amazon Acquisition. It is claimed that this misrepresentation led investors to believe that iRobot could successfully operate on its own, when in reality, doubts were raised about its viability as a standalone entity. These misrepresentations were deemed material and misleading by the lawsuit.
On March 12, 2025, iRobot disclosed its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2024. The company reported a per-share loss of $2.06 on revenue of $172 million, marking a 44% year-over-year decrease. iRobot further cautioned investors that there were concerns regarding the company’s ability to remain operational for at least 12 months following the issuance of its 2024 financial statements. Subsequently, there was a significant decline in iRobot’s stock price, dropping by $3.255 per share, equivalent to a 51.58% decrease over the subsequent two trading sessions.
Industry analysts have been critical of iRobot’s recent performance, with one analyst from Seeking Alpha even downgrading the company to a sell rating due to its bleak prospects. The analyst highlighted that iRobot’s position had markedly worsened following the Amazon acquisition fallout, resulting in substantial job cuts and escalating losses. The Motley Fool also noted that despite iRobot’s costly restructuring efforts, the company had yet to achieve stability.
Investors who encountered losses on their iRobot investments during the specified period are advised to reach out to Bragar Eagel & Squire’s partners Brandon Walker or Marion Passmore directly at (212) 355-4648 to discuss their legal options.
