Cooper and Pauldo awarded SEC honors for Tennessee
Two standout athletes from the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team received notable honors from the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Talaysia Cooper, a dominant forward, was recognized with All-SEC Second Team accolades for the second year in a row. Demonstrating impressive stats this season, Cooper averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, surpassing the preseason expectations set for her. In 24 games, she achieved double-figure scores, solidifying her position as a reliable offensive force. Cooper’s defensive prowess further shines through as she ranks 36th nationally in steals, reflecting her ability to impact the game on both ends of the court. Her consistent growth and leadership secured her a back-to-back All-SEC Second Team selection, recognizing her invaluable contributions to the team.
In contrast, Mia Pauldo garnered recognition by being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, marking her as the first Lady Vol since 2022 to achieve this honor. Pauldo, a talented point guard, averaged 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across 25 appearances in her debut season. Her standout performances in SEC play, where she led all freshmen with 11.8 points per game, showcased her offensive prowess, with three impressive 20-point games under her belt. Pauldo’s ability to generate scores while effectively handling the point guard position highlights her significance as a key contributor in her freshman year.
