Zach Neto hits a home run, but Angels lose lead to Diamondbacks

Starting pitcher Alek Manoah put on a strong performance by pitching three scoreless innings, contributing to his overall impressive spring training record of not allowing a single run in five innings. Manoah’s sinker and four-seam pitches were particularly effective, although he noted that there was room for improvement in executing his slider. Drew Pomeranz, Kirby Yates, Jordan Romano, and Jayvien Sandridge also took the mound during the game, with varying degrees of success in containing the Diamondbacks’ offense. Sandridge, acquired from the New York Yankees in the off-season, struggled, allowing five runs in the eighth inning, including a three-run homer.

On the offensive side, Zach Neto’s home run was a highlight of the game for the Angels. Mike Trout showed impressive speed on the base paths, reaching a sprint speed that he had not achieved since a previous season’s game before an injury sidelined him.
