Quest Diagnostics appoints Benjamin Beauvalot as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer

Quest Diagnostics, a renowned provider of diagnostic information services, has announced the appointment of Benjamin Beauvalot as the senior vice president and chief strategy and M&A officer. With over two decades of experience in business strategy and transformation, including mergers and acquisitions, Beauvalot brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role in the company.

In his position, Beauvalot will be tasked with developing Quest’s growth strategy and overseeing mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and integrations. Reporting directly to Jim Davis, the chairman, CEO, and president of Quest Diagnostics, Beauvalot will play a crucial role as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

“Ben has a proven track record of successfully implementing growth, M&A, and transformation strategies in the healthcare industry,” stated Mr. Davis. “His strategic leadership and meticulous approach to business integration will significantly enhance Quest’s ability to drive both organic and acquisitive growth, aligning with our mission to contribute to a healthier world, one life at a time.”

Before joining Quest Diagnostics, Beauvalot held various leadership positions in strategy and M&A at Danaher Corporation, a prominent global life sciences and diagnostics innovator. His roles included serving as the vice president and head of business development and strategy for Danaher’s biotechnology and genomics divisions. Additionally, Beauvalot held key positions at Patheon, a leading pharmaceutical services company, and Banner Life Sciences, a specialty pharmaceutical firm.

With a degree in management and business administration from the Institut de Préparation à l’Administration et à la Gestion (IPAG) in Paris, France, Beauvalot brings a unique blend of academic knowledge and practical experience to his new role at Quest Diagnostics.

Beauvalot will succeed Dermot Shorten, who has been in the role since 2008 and is set to retire in the second quarter of 2026. During Shorten’s tenure at Quest, he oversaw a substantial number of business combinations and collaborations, including several acquisitions of hospital outreach laboratories over the past decade.

Expressing gratitude for Shorten’s contributions and leadership, Mr. Davis acknowledged the critical role Shorten played in shaping Quest into the dynamic and successful business it is today. Shorten leaves behind a solid foundation for the company to continue its growth trajectory and create further value in the future.
