The Home Depot reveals financial results for Q4 and fiscal year 2025

The Home Depot disclosed its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2025, showcasing a $38.2 billion sales figure, which has decreased by $1.5 billion from the same period in 2024, primarily because the fourth quarter of 2024 consisted of 14 weeks compared to 13 weeks in 2025. Despite the decrease in sales, comparable sales in the U.S. managed to increase by 0.3%. Net earnings for the fourth quarter were $2.6 billion, a decline from $3.0 billion in 2024. Adjusted diluted earnings per share stood at $2.72, down from $3.13 in the prior year. The full fiscal year 2025 saw sales of $164.7 billion, displaying a positive growth trajectory of $5.2 billion, with comparable sales growing by 0.3%.

The company’s Chairman, President, and CEO, Ted Decker, acknowledged the efforts of their team in maintaining stable demand throughout fiscal 2025, even amidst challenges like consumer uncertainty and housing market pressures. Furthermore, The Home Depot revealed its plan to increase its quarterly dividend by 1.3% to $2.33 per share, which equates to an annual dividend of $9.32 per share. This move is in line with the company’s consistent performance, marking the 156th straight quarter it has distributed a cash dividend.

Looking ahead, The Home Depot has provided its guidance for fiscal 2026, signaling an anticipated growth in total sales of around 2.5% to 4.5%. Comparable sales are also expected to be around flat to 2.0%, driven by a strategy to introduce approximately 15 new stores. The company’s financial projections include a target gross margin of about 33.1% and an operating margin of 12.4% to 12.6%. The effective tax rate is predicted to be approximately 24.3%, with net interest expenses around $2.3 billion. Diluted earnings per share are forecasted to grow roughly flat to 4.0% from $14.23 in fiscal 2025.
