Cheniere marks a decade of exporting LNG

This historic moment occurred on February 24, 2016, when the Asia Vision vessel was loaded with LNG at the Sabine Pass Liquefaction terminal in Louisiana, marking the dawn of a new chapter not only for Cheniere but also for local and global energy markets. This event symbolized the first commercial LNG cargo export from the contiguous United States.

Since that groundbreaking day, Cheniere has solidified its position as the foremost LNG producer in the United States, propelling the nation to the forefront of LNG suppliers globally. Over the past decade, Cheniere has invested over $50 billion in expanding its liquefaction infrastructure along the Gulf Coast. These efforts have culminated in the operation of two state-of-the-art terminals with a combined LNG production capacity exceeding 50 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), set to expand to over 60 mtpa by 2028 and potentially surpass 100 mtpa by the mid-2030s.
