Hyatt Executive Chairman Thomas J. Pritzker Retires and Will Not Seek Re-election

Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently made an announcement regarding changes in its leadership. Thomas J. Pritzker, the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, has decided to retire from his position with immediate effect and will not seek re-election to the Board of Directors at the upcoming Annual Meeting of Stockholders in May. Taking Pritzker’s place as Chairman of the Board is Mark S. Hoplamazian, who currently serves as Hyatt’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Richard Tuttle, Chair of the Board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, expressed gratitude for Pritzker’s leadership and contribution to Hyatt’s growth over the years.

In his statement, Pritzker reflected on his time with the company, emphasizing the honor and fulfillment he experienced during his tenure at Hyatt. He expressed confidence in Hyatt’s future under the leadership of Hoplamazian, the board, and the management team, as they continue to build on the foundation laid down during Pritzker’s time with the company.

He acknowledged Pritzker’s dedication and stewardship throughout his service with Hyatt and looked forward to working towards the company’s long-term growth, enhancing employee welfare, providing exceptional guest experiences, and delivering value to shareholders.
