Pierce Manufacturing increases production capacity and efficiency in Florida operations by expanding.

Pierce Manufacturing Inc., under Oshkosh Corporation, has recently announced a strategic expansion of its Bradenton, Florida operations. This decision comes after earlier investments in its Appleton, Wisconsin manufacturing campus. A grand total of approximately $150 million has been allocated to revamping the facilities, with nearly $70 million already put into play. The organization also boasts about acquiring 800 fresh job opportunities in the United States, with more openings still available. These moves confirm Pierce’s unwavering dedication to enlarging its production capabilities, enhancing operational efficiency, and providing top-tier fire equipment more promptly to fire stations.

To fortify its Bradenton site, Pierce is focusing on upgrades to assure top-notch quality, the smooth flow of production, safety, and worker ergonomics. The proposed renovation includes a 185,000 square foot extra structure near Pierce’s Florida base, as part of their extensive blueprint for over 500,000 square feet of additional space to support the manufacture of more fire apparatus. The new facility’s purpose is to allow more storage room and kitting areas, better production flow, and enhanced training facilities. By enhancing the overall processes, the location is anticipated to be fully operational by mid-2026.

Furthermore, Pierce is investing in expanding the painting department at Bradenton campus, intending to boost capacity, establish consistent production, and maintain elevated quality standards. These enhancements involve the addition of more booth space and upgrades to material-handling processes, all of which are geared towards making workflows more seamless and supporting continuous expansion in the sector.

According to Marty Bass, Pierce Manufacturing’s President, the team in Bradenton is vital in catering to customers’ expectations of quality and craftsmanship. The organization has notably increased its Florida workforce and production capabilities over the recent years. These current investments symbolize the continuous commitment to constructing top-tier apparatus, looking out for team members’ welfare, bolstering operational efficiency, and gearing Pierce to keep up with customer demands into the future.

A fundamental aspect of the growth strategy for Pierce is to augment security and optimize the site infrastructure at the Bradenton campus. This revamp includes the expansion of parking, improvement of traffic flow, and the inclusion of enhanced security features, creating a safer and more productive ambience for workers and guests alike.
