Asia Insurance Review: Willis announces appointment of new Head of Mergers and Acquisitions in Asia

Willis, a division of WTW, has named Ms Mareli Vermeulen as the new Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Asia in the Financial and Executive Risks (FINEX) segment of the business.

Ms Vermeulen’s primary responsibility will be to oversee the creation and implementation of transaction risk solutions for Willis’ M&A and private equity clientele throughout Asia.

With over 13 years of experience in advising private equity firms and corporate buyers on intricate and high-value deals, Ms Vermeulen is well-equipped for her new role. Previously, she held the position of Director in Willis’ Pacific M&A team, guiding clients on warranty, indemnity, and tax liability insurance solutions for various transactions in sectors across Australia and New Zealand.

Before joining Willis, Ms Vermeulen worked as an M&A and private equity Lawyer at distinguished multinational law firms in Australia and South Africa.
