Responsibilities for this role include taking the lead in the daily execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions within the technology sector. This entails overseeing the development of financial models, valuation analyses (such as DCF, comps, and precedent transactions), and comprehensive transaction materials. It also involves managing analysts to ensure precision, efficiency, and maintaining high analytical standards. Coordinating due diligence processes, liaising with clients, buyers/investors, lawyers, and other stakeholders is also a crucial part of the role. Additionally, in-depth research into industries and companies to support pitch materials and strategic recommendations is required, along with assisting senior bankers in fostering client relationships and spotting new business opportunities. The presentation of insights and updates on deals to both internal teams and external clients is also part of the job scope.
Qualifications sought for this role include 3-5+ years of investment banking experience, preferably at a technology-focused boutique or middle-market bank. Strong experience in M&A deal execution, the ability to independently manage workstreams, a deep comprehension of technology business models, and industry trends are essential. Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills with a keen eye for detail, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to express complex ideas clearly to senior executives are also necessary. The ability to thrive in a dynamic, lean-team environment is crucial, with an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related fields being required. An MBA is a plus but not mandatory.
