Abacus Worldwide names new co-chairs for tax and legal groups
Abacus Worldwide, a global association comprising independent accounting, consulting, and legal firms, recently appointed two new co-chairs to oversee its tax and legal special interest groups (SIGs).
Erika Baldacchino from Malta-based WDM International will now co-chair the tax SIG along with Steve Miller from Steven Miller & Associates in Dallas, Texas. On the other hand, Gustav Linge from Swedish member firm Advokatfirman Linge has been selected to help lead the legal SIG alongside Mike Ehrenstein from Miami’s Ehrenstein Sager.
Abacus Worldwide operates four SIGs that address key areas within the industry, including audit, tax, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and legal matters. These groups convene regularly, both virtually and in person, to delve into technical matters and explore their cross-border implications.
Members of the SIGs also engage in ongoing discussions and knowledge-sharing through Abacus Connect, the association’s dedicated online platform. By facilitating connections between member firms, Abacus Worldwide aims to enable the exchange of expertise and resources to better serve clients’ needs both locally and globally.
In a recent development, Abacus Worldwide expanded its footprint in Africa by welcoming two new members. The first addition, Kenyan law firm Munyao, Muthama & Kashindi Advocates, with offices in Nairobi and Mombasa, joined the network. Additionally, South Africa’s P&A Accountants, located in Alberton, Gauteng, also became a member, offering accounting and tax compliance services to businesses of all sizes.
Abacus Worldwide’s commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among its members underscores its mission to provide comprehensive and tailored services to clients worldwide. By leveraging the expertise and resources of its diverse network of member firms, Abacus Worldwide continues to enhance its capabilities and strengthen its global presence in the accounting, consulting, and legal fields.
