Drake and Adin Ross Face New Lawsuit Over Stake Promotion

Drake and Adin Ross are facing legal trouble related to their promotion of Stake, as a federal class-action lawsuit filed in Virginia alleges that the website has been running as an illegal online casino, generating significant profits since at least 2022. LaShawnna Ridley and Tiffany Hines, the plaintiffs in the case, claim that Stake deceives users by allowing real money gambling under the guise of virtual currency play.

The lawsuit argues that Stake markets itself as not offering real money gambling and providing a safe and free gaming experience without the need for purchase or payment to participate. However, the complaint alleges that users purchase Gold Coins that always come bundled with Stake Cash, which can be exchanged one to one for U.S. dollars. This discrepancy suggests that the platform’s advertising claims are misleading.

Drake and Ross are accused of being enthusiastic and compensated endorsers of Stake, incentivized to conceal the true nature of their involvement. The lawsuit claims that both celebrities engaged in live-streamed gambling with large sums of money provided by Stake rather than their own funds. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that Stake’s internal tipping system was used by Drake, Ross, and Nguyen to move substantial amounts of money, including a $100,000 public tip between Drake and Ross, to finance the artificial streaming of Drake’s music.

The plaintiffs assert that they suffered financial losses due to being misled by the defendants’ promotion of Stake and are seeking damages, penalties, and an injunction to halt the alleged deceptive practices. In 2022, Drake reportedly signed a $100 million endorsement deal with Stake. Notably, Drake and Ross were also named as defendants in two other lawsuits related to Stake, both filed in October 2025 within days of each other.

During a livestream, Ross responded to the lawsuits by denouncing them as unfounded. The legal battle surrounding Drake and Adin Ross’s involvement with Stake continues to unfold, shedding light on the complexities of celebrity endorsements in the online gambling industry. The allegations outlined in the lawsuit highlight the importance of transparency and ethical marketing practices in the digital landscape.
