Drake, Adin Ross, and Stake face new class action gambling RICO lawsuit

Drake and his associates are once again facing legal challenges, as they are now embroiled in a third class action lawsuit. This time, the lawsuit accuses Drake, Adin Ross, and Stake of participating in illegal gambling promotions through the use of tips on Stake. The lawsuit specifically alleges that these tips were used to artificially boost Drake’s music streams on various platforms and services.

The federal RICO lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, highlights the collaboration between Drake, Adin Ross, Stake, and George Nguyen in manipulating the system. The lawsuit claims that Stake’s “tipping” feature was used to transfer funds among the defendants to create fraudulent streams of Drake’s music. These artificial streams were intended to increase Drake’s popularity, disparage competitors, manipulate recommendation algorithms, and obscure the origins of the funds.

Moreover, the lawsuit asserts that Drake was complicit in allowing his alleged coconspirators to disguise encrypted transfers as exclusive “giveaways.” The plaintiffs also pointed to a substantial $100,000 tip transfer between Ross and Drake in 2023 as evidence of illicit financial transactions. Additionally, the lawsuit highlighted an instance from 2024 when Drake and Ross hosted a “Drizzmas” giveaway stream, allegedly using the tips exchanged between them to enhance botting and paid engagement tactics.

To further complicate matters, the lawsuit references a $220,000 car that Stake reportedly gifted to Ross shortly before the legal filing. These financial transactions and promotions are alleged to constitute an illegal gambling operation, with the plaintiffs seeking $5 million in damages. The lawsuit identifies two users, LaShawnna Ridley and Tiffany Hines, as the plaintiffs, representing Stake.us users within the United States.

This legal predicament is not the first time Drake has faced such allegations. Last year, he was served with similar lawsuits in New Mexico and Missouri. Despite his Stake earning stream a few days prior to the recent filing, it seems that legal troubles continue to follow the acclaimed artist. The ongoing legal battles raise questions about the ethics and legality of promotional practices within the music industry and online gambling platforms.
