Dividend stock: PSU stock offers cash reward under Rs 100 in Q3 results
NHPC, a PSU stock under Rs 100, is gearing up to announce its dividend for the financial year 2025-26. As January marks the start of the earnings season, many companies listed on the BSE and NSE are unveiling their schedules for the release of the third quarter results for the fiscal year 2025-26. NHPC Limited, a prominent Indian public sector hydropower company, is the latest firm to disclose its timetable for the earnings announcement for the period of October to December 2025.
The state-owned Navratna company NHPC Limited recently revealed its schedule for the October-December 2025 quarter results. Along with the third-quarter earnings report for the financial year 2025-26, NHPC may also declare a dividend for its shareholders. This information was conveyed through an official exchange filing on December 29, 2025.
NHPC Limited announced that the meeting of the Board of Directors is set to take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, to review and approve the unaudited financial results for the quarter and nine months ending on December 31, 2025. The company stated, “…it is to inform that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 04th February, 2026 to inter-alia consider and approve unaudited Financial Results (Standalone and Consolidated) of the Company for the quarter and nine months ended on 31st December, 2025,” as per the filing. The earnings for the second quarter of FY26 were announced around 4.30 pm on November 6, 2025.
Additionally, the board meeting on February 4, 2026, may involve discussions on the proposal for an interim dividend on the equity share capital of the company for the financial year 2025-26. NHPC stated, “The Board of Directors in the aforesaid meeting may also consider the proposal for declaration of interim dividend, if any, on equity share capital of the Company for the FY 2025-26.”
NHPC also mentioned that the ‘trading window’ for dealing in the company’s securities by designated persons will be closed from January 1, 2026, until 48 hours after the announcement of the financial results on February 6, 2026.
HMPC has a history of consistently rewarding its shareholders with dividends. In 2025, the company distributed dividends twice – first Rs 0.51 in August and then Rs 1.40 in February, totaling Rs 1.91. In the previous year of 2024, NHPC also issued dividend payouts twice – Rs 0.50 in August and Rs 1.40 in February.
The share price of NHPC closed at Rs 79.71 today, which was Rs 0.55 or 0.69 percent higher than the previous closing price of Rs 79.16 on the BSE. NHPC is primarily engaged in hydroelectric power generation, with a growing focus on renewable energy sources. Listed on the BSE 200 index, the state-owned power transmission company boasts a market capitalization of Rs 80,068.97 crore.
