Argentinian cement market growth reaches 6% in November 2025

In November 2025, Argentina experienced a decline in cement consumption by 4.7 per cent compared to the same month in the previous year. The National Cement Association, AFCP, reported that cement consumption dropped to 829,432 tons from 870,090 tons in November 2024. Additionally, there was a significant 14.3 per cent decrease in consumption compared to October 2025. The market in Argentina was mainly supplied by domestic production, with imports at an all-time low of 16 tons, down from 5567 tons in November 2024 and 559 tons in October 2025.

Domestic production of cement in Argentina also saw a decline, with a 4.2 per cent year-over-year decrease from 876,775 tons in November 2024 to 840,212 tons in November 2025. Compared to the previous month, total production dropped by 13.7 per cent from 973,603 tons. Despite the overall decrease, there was a positive note in exports, with 10,796 tons being exported in November 2025, marking a 48.9 per cent increase compared to exports in the previous year. This also represented an 86.4 per cent increase in exports compared to October 2025.

For the period of January to November 2025, Argentina’s cement consumption rose to 9.262 million tons, a six per cent increase year-over-year from 8.734 million tons. Cement imports reached 2822 tons, showing a significant 58.4 per cent decrease compared to the same period in 2024. Domestic production of cement in Argentina totaled 9.330 million tons, marking a 6.2 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Exports also saw a positive trend, increasing by 32.9 per cent to 70,888 tons in the first 11 months of 2025 from 53,358 tons in the same period in 2024.

In other parts of the world, Vietnam continued its strong performance in the cement industry. Cement dispatches in Vietnam grew by eight per cent year-over-year to 6.930 million tons in November 2025. North Korea’s Sunchon Cement Complex announced an increase in output, fulfilling its annual economic plan. TITAN Group established a joint venture in Greece to focus on advanced mortars, expanding its reach in the industry. Mitsubishi Materials revealed plans to halt kiln operations at UBE Mitsubishi Cement Corp by 2027, marking a significant development in the sector.
