Former Baldur’s Gate 3 Artist Joins CD Projekt RED for The Witcher IV
Felix Padulla, previously serving as the senior cinematic artist on Baldur’s Gate III at Larian Studios, has officially joined CD Projekt RED to contribute to the development of the highly awaited The Witcher IV. Announcing the exciting news on LinkedIn, Padulla shared his new role as Senior Cinematic Designer at CDPR after spending approximately six years at Larian Studios. Reflecting on his time at Larian, Padulla expressed gratitude for the incredible experiences shared with the team, acknowledging the creative and chaotic moments that shaped his journey. He fondly recalled the magical collaborations and valuable lessons learned during his tenure, extending a sincere appreciation to his colleagues and friends. As one adventure draws to a close, Padulla eagerly anticipates the new beginning at CD Projekt Red, embracing the opportunity to work with the renowned team on The Witcher series.
The upcoming installment, The Witcher IV, remains shrouded in mystery regarding its release date, as CDPR has confirmed that fans will have to wait until after 2026 for its arrival. Additionally, the game will not make an appearance at The Game Awards this month. Notably, CD Projekt Red unveiled its substantial workforce dedicated to The Witcher IV, boasting nearly 450 staff members working on the project. The studio recently welcomed Karl Kolmann, a former developer from Warhorse Studios, as the senior quest designer for the game, signaling a strong commitment to delivering a captivating experience for players.
Departing from the previous entries in the series, The Witcher IV will introduce a new protagonist, Ciri, steering the narrative in a fresh direction. CDPR aims to achieve technical excellence in the game’s performance, targeting a smooth 60 frames per second with ray-tracing capabilities on the PS5 platform, promising a visually stunning and immersive gameplay experience for fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the acclaimed franchise.
