Alvarez & Marsal introduces new Public Company Advisory team
Alvarez & Marsal, a leading global professional services firm, has recently announced the launch of a new Public Company Advisory group, further strengthening its corporate finance practice. The firm welcomed Jamie Peel as a senior director in Manchester, with plans for additional hires to join the team in the upcoming months.
This strategic move comes as part of A&M’s continuous expansion efforts, which have seen the corporate finance practice grow to encompass 260 professionals spanning various sectors and operating in 20 countries worldwide. Peel’s appointment aims to address a critical gap in the mid-market by offering specialized public company advisory services independently.
With over 13 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking, Peel brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Throughout his career, he has advised clients on a wide array of transactions, including IPOs, public M&A, corporate strategy, bid and activist defense, and capital raising. His deal sizes have ranged from £5 million to over £500 million. Prior to joining A&M, Peel held director roles at PwC and Zeus Capital.
According to Jonathan Boyers, the managing director and head of corporate finance EMEA, the establishment of the Public Company Advisory group represents a significant milestone for A&M’s corporate finance practice. By focusing on this underserved segment of the market, the firm sees ample opportunity for growth, with Peel’s expertise playing a crucial role in driving this expansion.
In response to his appointment, Peel expressed enthusiasm about joining A&M and leading the new Public Company Advisory group. He emphasized the importance of providing independent corporate finance advice to both listed and private companies seeking to leverage the public markets. A&M’s global reach and sector-specific knowledge position the firm well to bridge this market gap by offering clients access to a broad network of UK and international buyers, coupled with extensive capital markets expertise.
Looking ahead, Peel looks forward to collaborating with Jonathan Boyers and the rest of the team to facilitate successful navigation of complex public company transactions. As the first hire in the new group, his strategic vision and experience are set to play a pivotal role in the team’s growth and the firm’s expansion plans.
Overall, the launch of the Public Company Advisory group underscores A&M’s commitment to providing comprehensive and tailored financial advisory services to clients globally, further solidifying its position as a trusted partner in the corporate finance landscape. With Peel at the helm, the firm is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of clients in the dynamic public company advisory sector.
