Introducing Brad Meyer, Our Head Grower of the Year for 2025

rowers. He regularly attends meetings with other growers, both within and outside of the company, to learn best practices.
“I always say the worst thing that can happen is that you learn something,” he says. “And the best thing is that you learn something. There’s a wealth of knowledge out there, and you just need to be willing to pick up the phone or make a visit to learn from other growers.”
Meyer believes that the horticulture industry is constantly evolving, and it’s crucial to stay adaptable. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to not be afraid to change course if something isn’t working. Don’t get hung up on the idea that you have to stick with something just because it’s what you’ve always done.”
Looking Ahead
With sustainability becoming an increasingly important focus in both the horticulture industry and society at large, Meyer is excited about the opportunities for growth and development.
“We’ve been looking at alternative substrates and different ways to recycle the old mix and have been running a study with some alternative biological products,” he says. “We’ve been researching the use of mycorrhizae in our crops and have seen some promising results.”
Meyer’s commitment to innovation and willingness to embrace new techniques and products have positioned Bachman’s as a leader in sustainable and environmentally friendly horticultural practices.
As Head Grower of the Year, Brad Meyer’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. His dedication to continuous improvement, coupled with his openness to new ideas, has propelled him to the pinnacle of the horticultural industry. Meyer’s story is a reminder that it’s never too late to embark on a new path and achieve great success in an industry that is constantly evolving.
