Medtronic completes €1.5 billion senior notes public offering
Medtronic plc has just announced the successful closure of a public offering of €1.5 billion of senior notes. The offering included €750 million of 2.950% senior notes due in 2030 and €750 million of 4.200% senior notes due in 2045. These notes were issued by Medtronic, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Medtronic plc. The Company and Medtronic Global Holdings S.C.A. provided full and unconditional guarantees for these notes on a senior unsecured basis.
The net proceeds from the offering totaled approximately €1.49 billion after deducting underwriting discounts and estimated expenses. These funds are intended to be used to repay existing senior notes due in 2025. Leading financial institutions, such as Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch, and Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, acted as the joint book-running managers for the offering.
