NVIDIA Discloses Two Clients Contributed to 39% of Revenue for the Quarter

NVIDIA, a prominent chipmaker, revealed on August 28, 2025, that a substantial portion of its revenue in the July quarter came from two undisclosed clients, accounting for 39%. This disclosure has sparked discussions about the company’s reliance on a limited number of customers.

The company achieved a record high quarterly revenue of $46.7 billion, marking a significant 56% increase from the previous year. This growth was primarily fueled by the overwhelming demand for its data center products.

In a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), NVIDIA disclosed that “Customer A” contributed 23% of the total revenue, while “Customer B” accounted for 16%. Comparatively, in the previous year, the top two customers were responsible for only 14% and 11% of the revenue, indicating a notable shift in revenue concentration.

The concentration of revenue from these two undisclosed customers underscores the significance of large buyers in the industry, with many of them being major cloud service providers. NVIDIA’s chief financial officer highlighted that approximately 50% of the company’s data center revenue is attributed to these large cloud service providers.

This dependence on a select group of customers raises concerns about NVIDIA’s revenue diversification strategy and its vulnerability to fluctuations in the demand from these major clients. While securing substantial revenue from key customers can be advantageous, it also poses risks in terms of maintaining stable revenue streams if these customers reduce their orders or shift their business preferences.

As NVIDIA continues to expand its market presence and introduce innovative products and solutions, it will be crucial for the company to focus on broadening its customer base and reducing its reliance on a handful of major clients. Diversification of revenue sources can offer greater stability and resilience against market fluctuations and changes in customer preferences.

The revelation of the revenue contribution from two undisclosed customers sheds light on the dynamics of NVIDIA’s business relationships and underscores the importance of strategic planning to ensure sustainable growth and financial stability. By proactively addressing concerns related to revenue concentration and customer dependency, NVIDIA can strengthen its position in the market and enhance its long-term success in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
