M&A: Ownership of U.S. Digital Out-of-Home Network Patient Point Changes

International has announced the acquisition of Patient Point, a prominent DooH media company in the U.S., from a consortium of investors, including L Catterton and Littlejohn & Co. The deal, whose financial details remain undisclosed, is expected to be finalized later this year. Patient Point, headquartered in Cincinnati, boasts an extensive network of screens in over 30,000 physician offices nationwide, positioning it as a significant player in the “point-of-care” DooH market. These screens are powered by Reflectview CMS software developed by Creative Realities.

One of the key milestones in Patient Point’s expansion journey was its merger with Outcome Health in 2021. Outcome Health, a Chicago-based company, faced legal challenges in 2020 related to fraud allegations against its founders and executives. As a result, Outcome Health rebranded as Patientpoint Health Technologies, under the ownership of L Catterton and Littlejohn. This strategic move enabled the combined entity to enhance its screen network and further solidify its market presence.

Advent International has expressed confidence in Patient Point’s current leadership team, led by CEO Sean Slovenski, stating that they will continue to steer the company towards growth and innovation. Advent plans to leverage its expertise in healthcare and pharmaceuticals to support Patient Point’s expansion efforts and enhance its adtech capabilities and content offerings. The ultimate goal is to deliver more tailored messaging about treatment options and advanced therapies to sponsors and partners, enabling more personalized and measurable advertising campaigns.

Chris Comenos, a Director at Advent, highlighted the potential for Patient Point to drive positive health outcomes by offering innovative solutions that resonate with patients throughout their healthcare journey. On his part, CEO Sean Slovenski reiterated the company’s commitment to delivering impactful, behavior-changing education in healthcare settings. Slovenski expressed optimism about the partnership with Advent, believing it will accelerate Patient Point’s growth trajectory, expand its network reach, and deliver tangible value to healthcare providers, patients, and health brands.

While the financial specifics of the acquisition remain confidential, the transaction is anticipated to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals. The deal reflects a strategic shift in ownership for Patient Point, signaling a new chapter in its evolution as a leading player in the DooH media landscape. With the backing of Advent International, Patient Point is poised to embark on a path of continued growth, product development, and innovation, reinforcing its position as a trusted provider of healthcare-related digital content in physician office settings.
