Vietnam’s aviation industry has shown remarkable progress, positioning itself among the top 10 fastest-growing markets in the Asia-Pacific region, according to Boeing’s latest Commercial Market Outlook (CMO). The country has demonstrated one of the highest growth rates in air transport in the region, with the number of passengers expected to double in the next ten years, exceeding 75 million travelers annually.

With an average annual growth rate of approximately 8.1 percent, Vietnam’s aviation sector is making strides despite the ongoing global market instability. The domestic market is anticipated to outpace international growth, illustrating the expanding flight network and the surging demand for domestic air travel.

During the first half of this year alone, the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) managed over 460,000 flights safely, marking a nearly 9 percent increase from the previous year. This surge in air traffic underscores the escalating need for air traffic management services and the strain it puts on airspace infrastructure.

The burgeoning aviation market in Vietnam presents lucrative opportunities for companies involved in air traffic control and aviation technical services. Moreover, the country’s aviation infrastructure is undergoing transformation to accommodate the escalating demand. The recent inauguration of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and the upcoming launch of Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province in 2026 are poised to unlock new avenues for growth in the sector.
