Patients at Eisenhower Health could potentially receive a settlement payment as part of a class-action lawsuit: Here’s what you need to know.

Eisenhower Health, located in Rancho Mirage, has established itself as a premier medical facility with a remarkable history dating back to 1971. Recently, patients of Eisenhower Health have become involved in a class-action lawsuit settlement resulting in potential financial compensation.

The lawsuit, filed in 2023, accused Eisenhower Health of disclosing patients’ personal information without consent. Plaintiffs B.K. and N.Z. claimed that unauthorized third parties, including Meta Platforms, were able to access users’ data on Eisenhower’s website and MyChart patient portal. Despite these allegations, Eisenhower Health refuted the claims made in the lawsuit.

The legal case, known as B.K. and N.Z. vs. Eisenhower Medical Center, was initiated in the United States District Court Central District of California in October 2023. After reaching a settlement, a joint notice was filed on November 1, 2024, with a motion for preliminary approval filed in June 2025. The final approval hearing for the class-action settlement is scheduled for October 20 in Riverside, California.

As part of the settlement, a fund of $875,000 has been established to provide cash compensation to members of the settlement class and cover various expenses, including taxes, attorneys’ fees, and court-approved costs. The details of the agreement aim to address the concerns raised by the plaintiffs regarding the protection of patient privacy.
