Stock markets around the world experienced mixed results in Pre-Market Trading on Tuesday as investors reacted to the temporary easing of tariff threats that have been looming over the global financial markets. The signing of an executive order by President Trump to extend the tariff postponement period to August 1 provided some relief to investors. However, the certainty of this decision remains questionable, as reports indicated that the August 1 deadline mentioned by Trump is not set in stone and could be subject to change if alternative proposals are presented.
In response to this news, various star technology stocks saw gains in Pre-Market Trading. Stocks such as Tesla, Advanced Micro Devices, Oracle, and NVIDIA all showed increases, with some experiencing growth of over 1%. Cryptocurrency concept stocks also saw positive movements, with Bit Digital, SharpLink Gaming, and Bitmine Immersion Technologies all showing gains. Notably, Circle experienced a slight decrease in its stock price.
Popular Chinese concept stocks, including Alibaba, PDD Holdings, JD.com, and Baidu, all recorded increases of over 1% in Pre-Market Trading. In the Hong Kong market, photovoltaic stocks like Daqo New Energy and JinkoSolar also saw rises in their stock prices in response to market conditions. Notably, the former Silicon Carbide giant, Wolfspeed, continued its upward trajectory with a nearly 40% rise in Pre-Market Trading following a significant surge of over 95% overnight. Regencell Bioscience also experienced a jump of over 8% in its stock price during Pre-Market Trading, with the stock having accumulated a substantial increase year-to-date.
Another notable mover in the Pre-Market Trading was BioSig Technologies Inc., which surged over 31% after announcing a planned merger with Streamex Exchange Corporation and securing a $1.1 billion financing agreement to advance RWA tokenization. Love Recycling also saw a significant increase of over 13% in Pre-Market Trading and announced plans for a $50 million stock repurchase.
In response to Trump’s tariffs, various countries have expressed their opinions and intentions. Japan and South Korea aim to continue negotiations, while South Africa believes that tariff rates could be lowered and Brazil denounces the decision and emphasizes countermeasures. Trump’s trade advisor, Peter Navarro, criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Powell for not immediately cutting interest rates in July, a move he believes is essential to the economy.
Looking ahead, analysts suggest that current Federal Reserve Board member Christopher Waller could be a suitable replacement for Powell in the event of a change in leadership. Waller’s moderate views and commitment to data-driven decisions align well with market expectations. Additionally, Goldman Sachs reiterates its theory of a September rate cut and expects the S&P 500 to rise by the year’s end as a result.
