This strategic move, supported by Lake Country Capital, underlines BPT’s commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions and innovation for challenging scenarios worldwide. The acquisition aims to expand BPT’s capabilities, strengthen customer relationships, and solidify its position as a key supplier to both the U.S. defense industry and commercial textile sectors.

While GSF will continue its operations from its base in Graniteville, South Carolina, the entire GSF team, brand, and product lines will merge with BPT. Jacob Furbee, the Group President & CEO of XFS Global & Bondcote Performance Textiles, expressed excitement about this development, emphasizing the alignment of values and strategic direction between the two companies. Graniteville Specialty Fabrics boasts a storied history dating back to the post-World War II era. Known for its pioneering work in coated textiles, GSF has played an integral role in developing mission-critical materials for military applications, fire-resistant fabrics, and durable industrial materials. These innovations have not only served the U.S. armed forces and first responders but have also found application in various commercial sectors such as construction, transportation, and recreation.

Doug Johnson, the Chief Operations Officer of GSF, expressed pride in the company’s 70-year legacy and eagerness about the future as part of Bondcote Performance Textiles. He emphasized a smooth transition process and highlighted the synergies that would be created through collaboration between the two teams to benefit existing and prospective customers.

The acquisition brings together two leading U.S.-based players in performance textiles, each recognized for their expertise in coating technologies, customer service, and engineered solutions. The integration of BPT and GSF is poised to yield significant synergies in research and development, operational efficiency, and product innovation. Customers of both companies can look forward to a wider range of offerings, quicker turnaround times, and enhanced innovation across the board.
