Joby achieves record certification progress and delivers second aircraft to US Air Force

Joby Aviation, a company focused on developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service, recently revealed its Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2024 results in a Shareholder Letter outlining its performance and financial standing as of December 31, 2024. They anticipate starting Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) flight testing within the next year.

Joby Aviation continues to strengthen its partnerships, delivering a second aircraft to Edwards Air Force Base in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense. The company now boasts a fleet of five aircraft for flight testing purposes, including a hydrogen-hybrid variant. They are also making headway towards launching passenger operations, with plans to transport their first passengers by late 2025 to early 2026 after delivering an aircraft to Dubai for flight testing in the middle of 2025.

Financially, Joby Aviation received over $1 billion in additional funding and commitments in the fourth quarter alone, further solidifying its strong balance sheet.
