Visa and Mastercard to pay over $1700 in class action lawsuit settlement

Visa and Mastercard have recently faced a legal battle resulting in a significant refund for their cardholders. A U.S. court has ordered the two payment processing giants to pay back a total of $197 million in extra fees that were unlawfully charged to customers.

This refund is big news for Visa and Mastercard users who have made cash withdrawals from bank-operated ATMs in the U.S. since 2007. If you’ve paid a non-refundable surcharge while using a Visa or Mastercard debit card at an ATM in the U.S. between October 1, 2007, and July 26, 2024, you may be eligible for a refund. The fee must have been charged by a bank within the Visa or Mastercard ATM network, such as JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, or Bank of America.

Visa is set to return $104.6 million to its customers, while Mastercard will refund $92.8 million as part of the settlement. To claim your share of the refund, you just need to visit the official class action website, complete the online claim form, or download it, fill it out, and send it by mail. Remember to include your contact information and sign a sworn statement confirming that you were charged excessive surcharges. While you don’t need supporting documents upfront, be prepared to provide them if requested later in the process.

This is a great opportunity for Visa and Mastercard users to get back what was rightfully theirs. Visit the class action website and claim your refund today!
