GlobalData reveals £340m M&A firepower deal for Business Cloud
GlobalData Plc, a prominent data, analytics, and insights company that recently divided into three divisions, has sealed a substantial £340 million funding deal to boost its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) capabilities. Following a successful £434 million private equity transaction earlier this year, the London-based firm restructured its operations into healthcare, consumer, and technology segments.
The new debt financing facilities, set to mature in December 2027 with the possibility of extension, consist of a £176.6 million package for the healthcare division and a separate £163.4 million financing for the remaining group. Specifically, the healthcare funds include a £61.8 million acquisition credit facility and a £114.8 million revolving credit facility, while the group facility comprises a £44.2 million ACF and a £119.2 million RCF, each with an optional uncommitted accordion facility for future expansion.
According to a statement issued to the London Stock Exchange, these funding resources, coupled with existing cash reserves, provide the company with a robust financial foundation to execute its M&A strategy as part of its growth transformation plan. GlobalData’s CEO, Mike Danson, emphasized the importance of strategic M&A in delivering value to customers and shareholders, expressing gratitude towards the lending group for their confidence in the company’s vision and business model.
In conclusion, this funding injection underscores GlobalData’s commitment to growth and innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of data and analytics.
