BLRX Ayrmid Commercialization Efforts: Zacks Small Cap Research

BioLineRx recently made an exciting announcement about their commercialization agreement with Ayrmid Ltd. and its subsidiary Gamida Cell Ltd. This agreement grants Ayrmid the rights to commercialize Aphexda (motixafortide) in most regions and across various indications, except for solid tumors. In exchange, BioLineRx will receive a $10 million upfront payment, as well as royalties ranging from 18% to 23% and the potential for $87 million in commercial milestones. While total revenues hit $4.9 million and the net loss was ($5.8) million, it’s important to note that Aphexda revenues were a bit lower than expected, coming in at $1.7 million. However, due to lower expenses, particularly in sales and marketing, BioLineRx experienced a less severe loss than anticipated. This reduction in expenses is a positive sign for the company as it moves towards a more focused approach on research and development.

In addition to these recent developments, BioLineRx has been busy. They launched the “Mobilization Matters” digital resource for multiple myeloma patients, received a new US Patent Office allowance for a motixafortide patent, and are gearing up for an oral presentation at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting in December.

Looking at their third-quarter operational and financial results, BioLineRx reported sales of $4.9 million, resulting in a net loss of ($5.8) million. Key highlights include: revenues of $4.9 million, cost of revenues at $0.8 million, research and development expenses totaling $2.6 million, and sales and marketing expenses decreasing to $5.5 million. Additionally, with cash, equivalents, and short-term bank deposits totaling $29.2 million as of September 30, 2024, BioLineRx appears to be in a strong position to support its operations into 2026.

The recent agreement with Ayrmid Pharma Ltd. is a substantial move for BioLineRx. This exclusive license agreement will see Ayrmid assuming commercialization rights for Aphexda in stem cell mobilization, providing BioLineRx with substantial upfront payment, royalties, and potential commercial milestones. The transition of commercialization activities to Ayrmid’s subsidiary, Gamida Cell, is expected to take place over the next month, setting BioLineRx up for an exciting year ahead.
