Capri Sun Kids Drink Faces New Class Action Lawsuit
Capri Sun, a beloved juice drink enjoyed by kids for generations, is now at the center of a new class-action lawsuit. This iconic drink, with its shiny silver pouches and familiar fruit imagery, is facing scrutiny over its “all natural ingredients” claim.
The lawsuit, filed against Capri Sun maker Kraft Heinz Foods Company, alleges that the juice contains manufactured citric acid, which contradicts the brand’s assertion of using only natural ingredients. Plaintiff Mikal Jefferson argues that this misrepresentation led consumers to believe they were buying a product with artificial ingredients.
This isn’t the first time Capri Sun has faced legal challenges regarding its advertising and ingredients. In a previous lawsuit in 2023, Capri Sun apple juice was called out for its use of citric acid for “tartness,” rather than as a preservative.
While the outcome of the lawsuit remains uncertain, Capri Sun continues to promote its juices as containing “all-natural ingredients.” It’s important to note that not all Capri Sun products make this claim, as the brand also offers a line of flavored water beverages.
For concerned consumers, it’s worth noting that the current lawsuit is specifically for California residents. So, before you panic about your juice pouches, take a look to see which Capri Sun products you have. And remember, always check the labels to know exactly what you’re buying.
