Royal Caribbean Facing Class Action Lawsuit After Cruise Ship Worker Was Caught Hiding …
Royal Caribbean is currently facing a class action lawsuit after a cruise ship worker was caught hiding cameras in guest bathrooms. The incident involved a crewmember who planted hidden cameras and recorded videos of guests in various stages of undress, including minors.
The lawsuit was filed by a passenger who discovered a hidden camera in her cabin bathroom in February 2024. The crewmember responsible has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. The lawsuit claims that Royal Caribbean did not take adequate security measures to prevent these acts of video voyeurism.
The lawsuit also mentions a previous incident in 2023 where a hidden camera recorded over 150 people in a public bathroom on another vessel. Despite these incidents, Royal Caribbean allegedly did not inform passengers about the prevalence of sexual assaults on their ships in order to not deter potential passengers.
The lawsuit seeks to represent passengers who stayed on the Symphony of the Seas vessel between December 1, 2023, and February 26, 2024, in cabins serviced by the crew member responsible. Royal Caribbean has yet to notify all passengers who stayed in these cabins during that time period.
If you were on the Symphony of the Seas between December 2023 and February 2024 and believe you may have been affected by this incident, you may be eligible to join the class action lawsuit.
