Asbury Automotive reports record revenues despite new costs from DMS and M&A

The Asbury Automotive Group had a successful year in 2025, achieving record annual revenues of approximately $18 billion, a 5% increase over the previous year. They also reported record fourth-quarter revenues of $4.7 billion, showing a 4% increase.

The company’s net income for 2025 was $492 million, reflecting a 14% growth compared to the previous year. However, in the fourth quarter, net income declined by 53% to $60 million due to various one-time impairments. Despite these challenges, Asbury Automotive managed to maintain a strong financial performance.

The year 2025 was marked by significant distractions for Asbury, primarily due to the large-scale acquisition of the Herb Chambers Automotive Group for $1.3 billion. This acquisition, announced in February 2025, added 33 dealerships, 52 franchises, and three collision centers to Asbury’s portfolio, expanding its reach and offerings. Additionally, the company underwent the implementation of a new cloud-based dealer management system, Tekion, across its entire organization.

David Hult, the president and CEO of Asbury, acknowledged the challenges faced during the year amidst these major changes. Despite the distractions, the company remained resilient, achieving remarkable financial results and demonstrating its ability to adapt and grow in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.

The successful financial performance of Asbury Automotive Group in 2025 showcased its strong market position and strategic capabilities. By effectively managing multiple transitions, acquisitions, and system upgrades simultaneously, the company has demonstrated its agility and resilience in the face of evolving market trends and industry challenges.

Looking ahead, Asbury remains focused on driving growth, expanding its market presence, and delivering value to its customers. With a solid foundation and a track record of performance, the company is well-positioned to navigate future uncertainties and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the automotive retail sector. Asbury Automotive Group’s commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence will continue to drive its success and sustain its leadership in the industry.
