Warner Bros. Discovery Appoints Brad Singer as Chief Financial Officer for Post-Separation Period

On August 27, 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (Nasdaq: WBD) revealed that Brad Singer is set to become the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Warner Bros. after the company’s split, slated for around mid-2026, subject to meeting closing and other requirements. In his capacity as CFO, Singer will report directly to David Zaslav, who serves as the President and CEO of WBD and will later take on the roles of President and CEO of Warner Bros. Singer’s responsibilities will include overseeing Warner Bros.’ global financial operations and strategies, handling areas like FP&A, accounting, internal audit, treasury, tax, procurement, and investor relations.

Taking on the CFO position this coming October, Singer will assume a strategic role until the official establishment of Warner Bros. Zaslav expressed praise for Singer, highlighting their past work together at Discovery Communications and emphasizing Singer’s track record in value creation and growth. Singer, in turn, expressed excitement about the opportunity to work with Zaslav and the Warner Bros. leadership team. He credits the company’s strong brand presence, creative achievements, and global audience connections as the foundation for unlocking long-term value in the future.

Before joining Warner Bros., Singer served as the Partner and Chief Operating Officer of ValueAct Capital until his retirement in 2021. During his tenure there, he also held board positions at Rolls-Royce Holdings and Motorola Solutions. Prior to joining ValueAct Capital, Singer served as the CFO of Discovery Communications, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s public offering in 2008. He was also the CFO & Treasurer of American Tower Corporation, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and international expansion following its IPO. Singer began his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. He currently sits on the board of Warby Parker and Sweetgreen, leveraging his expertise in audit committees.

Singer holds an MBA from Harvard Business School with distinction and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. Warner Bros. Discovery itself stands as a prominent global media and entertainment company, offering a diverse range of content across television, film, streaming, and gaming. The company boasts an impressive lineup of iconic brands like Discovery Channel, HBO Max, CNN, DC, TNT Sports, and many others.

Looking ahead, Warner Bros. Discovery is optimistic about the separation process. However, like any major structural change, there are inherent risks and uncertainties. While the company is excited about the benefits of the separation, it recognizes potential challenges such as regulatory hurdles, litigation risks, and changes to existing business configurations. Ultimately, time will tell how the separation process unfolds and how Warner Bros. and Discovery will navigate the transition.
