Phones worldwide, approximately 19% still operate on iOS 17, with 13% using even older versions like iOS 16. Furthermore, 19% of iPhones manufactured in the past 4 years continue to run iOS 17. For iPads, 28% are currently running iPadOS 17, while 19% are on earlier versions of iPadOS.
These figures come at a time when reports suggest that iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 updates are on the horizon, likely to be launched in the upcoming weeks. The anticipation of new features and enhancements in these updates may drive more users to upgrade to the latest operating systems.
In a notable move, Apple has temporarily disabled the Notification Summaries feature powered by Apple Intelligence for news and entertainment applications in iOS 18.3 beta 3 for developers due to complaints of inaccuracies in the summaries.
