Fraud Prevention event scheduled for Feb. 12 on Kauai

Join the Kauai County’s Agency on Elderly Affairs and the Kupuna Alert Partners for an informative event on Fraud and Scam Prevention, set to take place at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall on February 12th.

The Kupuna Alert Partners, a collaborative partnership consisting of multiple agencies, will provide valuable information on topics such as Medicare and securities fraud prevention, prescription drug misuse, identity theft scams, and essential tips on how to avoid falling victim to these scams.

While walk-ins are welcome, it is highly recommended to pre-register for the event to ensure an adequate supply of program materials and light refreshments for attendees. Online registration, as well as registering by calling the AEA office at 808-241-4470 or emailing [email protected], are available options.

The event kicks off with in-person registration starting at 8:30 a.m. The presentation begins promptly at 9:30 a.m., followed by community providers setting up resource tables for attendees.

The KAP partnership is comprised of various agencies, including the Department of the Attorney General, Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, Community & Crime Prevention Branch; Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Business Licensing Division, Office of Securities Commissioner, Investor Education Program; Department of Health, Executive Office on Aging, Senior Medicare Patrol; and Department of Public Safety, Narcotics Enforcement Division.
