Wipro planning to hire 12,000 fresh graduates in the fiscal year 2026
Wipro, a leading IT company in India, has revealed its intention to hire between 10,000 and 12,000 fresh graduates throughout the fiscal year 2025-26. Saurabh Govil, Wipro’s Chief Human Resources Officer, disclosed this plan during a press event held following the publication of the company’s Q3 earnings report for the fiscal year 2025. This announcement comes at a pivotal moment in the industry, characterized by constrained hiring and significant workforce reductions.
During the current fiscal year, Wipro had set goals to bring on approximately 10,000 freshers. So far, the company has successfully onboarded around 7,000 in the October-December quarter, with an additional 2,500-3,000 expected to join in the final quarter of the fiscal year 2025. Govil emphasized a measured but steady approach to recruitment in his statements to the press.
In response to diminishing attrition rates, Wipro has initiated a review of its hiring methodologies to enhance employee engagement and boost profit margins. The decision to retract offers made to 2022 graduates was motivated by the timeframe between extending job offers and actual onboarding. Wipro has introduced reevaluation processes and educational opportunities to ensure candidates are adequately equipped to meet industry demands and maintain high standards.
Furthermore, in a strategic move, Wipro is incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into its hiring processes for entry-level positions, signaling a notable shift in its recruitment strategies. This development aligns with similar announcements made by other prominent IT organizations in India. Notably, Infosys has committed to recruiting over 20,000 freshers in the fiscal year 2026, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has also pledged to increase its hiring of recent graduates in the upcoming financial year.
Wipro’s forward-thinking hiring initiatives underscore its commitment to recruiting top talent and fostering a skilled workforce to navigate the evolving demands of the IT sector. By integrating AI technologies into recruitment practices, Wipro aims to enhance efficiency and precision in identifying and onboarding talented individuals. As the industry landscape continues to evolve, Wipro remains at the forefront of innovation and strategic recruitment to ensure sustained growth and competitiveness in the dynamic IT sector.
