Amorepacific Unveils First Smart Eco-Factory in the Industry
Amorepacific Corp. has made a groundbreaking move in the cosmetics industry by transforming its production and logistics facility into a smart eco-factory, a first in the industry. The Amore Beauty Park located in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, has successfully implemented this eco-friendly model, focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants, while also enhancing energy and resource efficiency.
Through a government-led initiative, Amore Beauty Park integrated information and communication technology (ICT), implemented strategies to reduce greenhouse gases and pollutants, and promoted resource recycling. As part of this initiative, the facility installed an inverter turbo blower and solar power generation systems, resulting in an annual reduction of 279 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2eq) in greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, improvements were made to odor prevention systems to minimize environmental impact.
Furthermore, Amorepacific made investments in water recycling infrastructure to decrease water intake and increase the water recycling rate. The facility also upgraded its wastewater management with automated treatment processes powered by big data and implemented a cloud-based mobile remote monitoring system.
This move by Amorepacific sets a new standard for eco-friendly practices in the cosmetics industry and demonstrates their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
