Archer High-Volume Manufacturing Facility Construction Completed
Archer Aviation Inc. has exciting news to share! The company recently received the certificate of occupancy for its impressive high-volume manufacturing facility known as ARC in Covington, GA. This facility spans approximately 400,000 square feet and is connected to the Covington Municipal Airport. The team at Archer marked this milestone with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate.
The next steps for Archer include gearing up for production, with tooling load-in already in progress. The plan is to kick off manufacturing in early 2025 and gradually increase production to reach a rate of two aircraft per month by the end of the same year.
In an exciting development, Archer has been collaborating closely with Stellantis to finalize an agreement. Under this agreement, Stellantis will serve as Archer’s exclusive contract manufacturer, focusing on mass-producing Archer’s revolutionary Midnight eVTOL aircraft at the ARC facility. Stellantis is bringing to the table capital, advanced manufacturing technology, expertise, and skilled personnel to support the scaling of this facility. The aim is to hit a production target of 650 aircraft annually by the year 2030.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp shared his enthusiasm for this milestone by stating, “When we announced Archer’s decision to build this new manufacturing facility in Newton County, we knew it was just the beginning of an exciting partnership. Today’s announcement is another significant step in this journey, highlighting Georgia’s dedication to collaborating with innovative companies like Archer to generate quality job opportunities for the community. Congratulations to Archer, the Covington community, and all the dedicated individuals who will benefit from this endeavor.”
