Exploring AI in M&A: Xobee Networks Utilizes AI Guidance

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can seem like a big, intimidating idea, but Fresno-based tech company Xobee Networks is showing how AI tools can actually help a business grow and improve its operations. During a recent roundtable discussion on AI, Xobee’s Vice President of Support and Services Brandon Griggs shared some insights into how the company is using AI to enhance everything from customer interactions to major business decisions.

Xobee has invested in developing its own AI-driven software, with three generations already in place. This internal AI technology allows Xobee to streamline processes, spot trends, and offer personalized service, giving the company a competitive edge in the Central Valley and beyond.

One key way Xobee is customizing AI tools is by training them on years of company data to reflect the company’s preferred communication style. Griggs likened the process to onboarding a new employee—AI comes in with some knowledge but needs to learn the specifics to be effective. AI can help techs refine their notes and communications, turning technical jargon into client-friendly updates. This way, techs can focus on critical thinking and let AI handle communication refinement.

While AI is valuable for client interactions, Xobee also uses AI internally for strategic decision-making, like in recent acquisitions. By analyzing data and trends, AI helps identify growth opportunities and potential partners, such as in Xobee’s acquisition of South Coast Computers. Griggs stressed that AI provides data points, not definitive answers, and that human intuition and strategic judgment still guide the company’s decisions.

Founder Eric Rawn plays a key role in Xobee’s strategic judgment, combining gut feelings with AI-driven insights to steer the company in the right direction. Xobee is already incorporating these insights into its fourth-generation software tools, setting the company up to leverage AI well into the future.

At Xobee, AI isn’t about replacing humans but empowering them with additional tools and resources to enhance their decision-making and business operations. By using AI as a sidekick, Xobee remains in control, steering its business into a successful future.
