White & Case Secures “Best Exit” Awards at Belgium M&A Awards 2024
White & Case, a global law firm, recently received recognition from the M&A Community Belgium for their outstanding work. Two matters on which White & Case advised were awarded “Best Exit” at the annual M&A Awards ceremony.
The first winning deal was for Best Mid Cap Private Equity Exit in 2024. Smile Invest exited SmartSD, a distributor of security solutions. White & Case represented Cobepa in acquiring a majority stake in SmartSD, with financing from Park Square Capital and SMBC. The current shareholders, including Smile Invest and the founding managers, reinvested in the acquisition.
The second award was for Best Large Cap Private Equity Exit in 2024. Summit Partners exited CluePoints, a provider of AI-based software for clinical trial studies. White & Case represented Summit Partners in the sale to US PE firm EQT. Summit Partners and Clinimetrics SA, a co-founder of CluePoints, will retain minority stakes in this funding round.
