Japan Exchange Group to Broaden Daily Price Limits for 2 Issues
Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) has announced that daily price limits for two issues will be broadened due to specific conditions being met for two consecutive business days. The upper daily limits will be expanded for the following issues on the next business day, April 15.
The first condition states that if the upper or lower daily price limit is reached and the trading volume is zero without conducting any allocation at the limit, then the daily price limit will be broadened. The second condition is when the trading volume remains zero until the end of the afternoon session, and trades are executed at the upper or lower daily price limit at the close of the session.
For WACUL.INC (Code: 4173), the upper daily price limit will be set at 320 yen, with the lower limit remaining at 80 yen as usual. The base price is 455 yen, with the upper daily limit at 775 yen and the lower at 375 yen.
As for WOOD FRIENDS CO.,Ltd. (Code: 8886), the upper daily price limit will be adjusted to 1,200 yen, while the lower limit stays at 300 yen. The base price stands at 1,400 yen, with the upper daily limit at 2,600 yen and the lower at 1,100 yen.
It is important to note that if a trade is executed at a price other than the daily price limit on or after April 15, the limits will return to normal. This means that daily price limits will continue to be broadened only if trades are solely executed at the upper or lower limit price or if the session closes with a quote displayed at the limit price without any trades.
Investors should be aware that a market order may be executed at an unexpected price due to the broadened daily price limits. For any inquiries or clarification, investors can contact the Equities Department of the Tokyo Stock Exchange at Tel: +81-3-3666-0141.
In conclusion, TSE is implementing broadened daily price limits for specific issues to ensure efficient trading under certain conditions. It is essential for investors to stay informed about these adjustments to navigate the market effectively and make well-informed decisions.
