ICYMI: Latest trends in IoT, Automotive, M&A, and COMPUTEX!
In this week’s news roundup, Pennsylvania-based company Phoenix Contact has unveiled its latest Monitoring Case System (MCS) designed for sensor, IoT, and IIoT applications. The MCS is a versatile housing family that can be mounted to walls, poles, and DIN rails, making it easy to install, mount, and maintain PCBs.
Moving on to the automotive sector, voice recognition company Kardome has integrated its Spatial Hearing AI technology onto the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform for automotive OEMs. This innovative technology aims to enhance voice functions in automotive cabins by providing voice isolation, speaker identification, and speech processing in noisy environments. Kardome’s solution is anticipated to streamline production costs for automotive manufacturers and has the capability to capture individual voices from up to six seats with a single mic array.
On the mergers and acquisitions front, Infineon Technologies has made a significant move by acquiring Marvell Technology’s Brightlane Automotive Ethernet portfolio of PHY transceivers, switches, and bridges for a whopping $2.5 billion. These solutions offer network data rates ranging from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps, catering to a wide range of automotive manufacturers, including eight of the top ten leading OEMs. Infineon is optimistic about its revenue projections for 2025, expected to be between $225 million to $250 million, with a gross margin close to 60 percent.
In other news, registration for the highly anticipated COMPUTEX 2025 exhibition is now open. The event is scheduled to take place from May 20th to 23rd at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2 in Taiwan. A day before the exhibition, the COMPUTEX Keynote will feature presentations from industry giants such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Foxconn, MediaTek, and NXP, with prominent executives like Jensen Huang and Cristiano Amon leading the discussions.
