Successful Contract Management Training Program Held by Ateneo School of Government
The Contract Management training workshop hosted by the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG) was a resounding success, held on March 6-7, 2025, at the Pacifico Ortiz Hall. Various representatives from key public sector organizations such as the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and the Securities and Exchange Commission participated in the two-day program.
The workshop was meticulously structured to enhance participants’ skills in effectively managing contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, and minimizing risks associated with public sector projects. It was designed as an immersive learning experience, incorporating interactive lectures, practical workshops, group activities, and case studies to provide participants with a hands-on approach to real-world contract management scenarios. Through these dynamic activities, attendees deepened their understanding of contract basics, lifecycle management, and the ethical considerations crucial to making sound decisions in government procurement and project execution. Critical issues like ethical dilemmas, conflicts of interest, and confidentiality in contracting were addressed to equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to maintain transparency, accountability, and public trust within their organizations.
Guiding the program was Atty. Danny E. Bunyi, a senior partner at DivinaLaw with over 30 years of legal expertise. His wealth of experience in both private and public sectors provided participants with a comprehensive view of legal frameworks, regulatory compliance, and strategies for risk management in public sector contracts. Atty. Bunyi, a seasoned lecturer who also teaches corporation and partnerships law at the Ateneo de Manila University John Gokongwei School of Management, shared practical insights and strategies for effective contract management in government projects.
Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño, the Dean of the Ateneo School of Government, stressed the importance of ethical leadership and good governance in fostering trust and safeguarding public interests in his opening remarks. In her closing message, Ms. Sharon Grace S. Yabut, Head of the Executive Education Program, encouraged participants to apply the knowledge and insights gained from the training in their daily roles, reinforcing their commitment to integrity, accountability, and excellence.
