Aon names new leaders for small business and M&A divisions

Aon recently made significant appointments in Australia, with Helen Lockwood taking on the role of head of Affinity and small business, and Kris Karlsson being appointed Pacific head of M&A and transaction solutions. Lockwood, who has been with Aon since 2022 and was previously head of strategic platforms, will now be part of the Australian executive leadership team. Aon’s CEO of Australia, Jennifer Richards, praised Lockwood’s contributions in strengthening client offerings and building relationships with insurer partners.

Lockwood, based in Sydney, brings a wealth of experience from her time leading Suncorp’s property and casualty portfolio team and holding various roles in distribution and underwriting agencies. She expressed her eagerness to provide tailored solutions and advice to small businesses and associations across Australia in her new position.

On the other hand, Karlsson, also located in Sydney, transitions from his role as VP of corporate development at DP World, where he oversaw critical capital projects and acquisitions in the Asia-Pacific region. With a background at PwC and Commonwealth Bank, Karlsson highlighted Aon’s reputation as a trusted advisor in M&A solutions and his commitment to enhancing services to meet clients’ evolving and intricate needs. He will report to Eden Fletcher, head of specialty solutions for Australia.

Moreover, Aon announced the appointment of Terence Williams as head of commercial risk solutions for Asia-Pacific, effective April. Formerly serving as Europe, Middle East, and Africa chief broking officer in London, Williams will bring his expertise to Singapore. The organization continues to strengthen its leadership team with these strategic appointments.

In conclusion, Aon’s recent appointments of Lockwood, Karlsson, and Williams underscore its commitment to delivering exceptional services in the areas of small business, M&A, and commercial risk solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. With a focus on client engagement, innovation, and industry expertise, Aon continues to position itself as a leading provider of insurance and risk management solutions in the market.
