Anderson, Founder of Hindenburg, Implicated in Securities Fraud and Misleading Disclosures

Evidence is surfacing against the Hindenburg Research and its founder Nathan Anderson in a legal battle in Ontario, Canada, revealing potential securities fraud and misrepresentations made by the company and its founder, according to reports.

Market Frauds, an online investigative news outlet, stated that there are multiple incidences of securities fraud by both Nate Anderson and Anson Funds, even though only 5% of the material has been reviewed so far.

The report claims that when the entire interaction between Hindenburg and Anson is shared with the SEC, Nate Anderson could face charges of securities fraud in 2025. Hindenburg’s sudden closure has been unexpected, especially happening just three days before Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In November 2024, Bloomberg’s Crack Research team published a report uncovering the covert alliances among different short-sellers and research firms, with Hindenburg at the forefront. The report highlighted firms like Hindenburg Research and Anson Funds, a fund managed by Moez Kassam of Indian descent. Hindenburg denied ties with Anson, stating they maintain editorial independence, but leaked emails suggest a different story.

Despite public denial, leaked emails show significant editorial involvement by Anson in Hindenburg’s work, indicating questionable financial agreements between the two parties.

Reports suggest that the Adani Group, targeted by Hindenburg, collaborated with foreign intelligence partners to investigate those working against them after suffering significant market losses due to Hindenburg’s report released in January 2023.

The involvement of Anson in attacks on the Adani Group is ambiguous, with rumors suggesting links to organized crime. Allegations hint at former JP Morgan colleagues, Marissa Siegal Kassam, wife of Anson’s founder, and Mahua Moitra, playing a role in initiating the attacks on Adani Group post-Hindenburg’s report.
