Commercial Finance Director Position Available at Future Plc
Future plc is currently searching for a Group Commercial Finance Director who will be instrumental in propelling growth and generating shareholder value. This position will report directly to the Group CFO and collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
The primary responsibilities of the Group Commercial Finance Director include driving performance and supporting Future’s growth strategies across its three divisions – B2C, B2B, and overall. This role will act as a key partner to provide the necessary challenge to ensure the divisions are held accountable for their operational and financial outcomes.
Moreover, the Group Commercial Finance Director will collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to actualize Future’s strategic and operational objectives, encompassing short-term initiatives and medium-term goals. Additionally, this individual will engage in identifying growth prospects, whether organic, through partnerships, or mergers and acquisitions, while also contributing to strategic decision-making predicated on existing trends and future projections.
Alongside managing the profit and loss accounts for each division, the Group Commercial Finance Director will also be responsible for enhancing the commercial finance department’s capacity to leverage data insights effectively, enabling the organization to better understand performance by supplying pertinent analyses and tools.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a balanced mix of commercial acumen and emotional intelligence to foster performance and value creation company-wide. Experience in a brand-oriented enterprise, ideally within a publicly traded company, with exposure to both organic and M&A-driven growth, is highly advantageous. Moreover, aptitude in influencing business verdicts based on commercial and financial grounds, coupled with exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, is crucial.
In return, the Group Commercial Finance Director can expect a base salary ranging from £200k upwards, commensurate with experience, along with an annual bonus (up to 50% of the base) and long-term incentives (up to 50% of the base). This role is based in either London or Bath, requiring a minimum of three office days per week, with occasional international travel.
