Attorney Statement on Vince McMahon Settlement: Janel Grant Case
Former WWE owner Vince McMahon made headlines in 2022 when he announced his retirement amid allegations of paying hush money to women over a 16-year period. However, he officially resigned in January 2024 after former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him for sex trafficking.
Recently, it was revealed that Vince settled charges with the Securities and Exchange Commission for failing to disclose settlement agreements with women on behalf of himself and WWE. The SEC fined him $400,000 and ordered him to reimburse WWE for $1,330,915.90.
In response to this news, attorney Ann Callis, representing Janel Grant, released a statement highlighting Vince McMahon’s repeated violations of the law. She emphasized McMahon’s disregard for rules and his alleged cover-up of abusive behavior, including human trafficking. Grant’s legal team looks forward to presenting new evidence in the ongoing civil case against McMahon and WWE.
