Chinese Actor Rescued near Myanmar-Thailand Border
A Chinese actor who went missing near the Thai-Myanmar border has been found in Myanmar’s Myawaddy District and returned to Thai authorities, according to reports. The actor, Wang Xing, disappeared on January 3 and was located on the Myanmar side of the border by local armed groups. Thai Police Chief Thatchai Pitaneelabutr oversaw his recovery on January 7 around 2 PM.
Although details of Wang Xing’s disappearance are scarce, sources suggest he was found near KK Park, a location linked to online scam activities near Myawaddy Township. CCTV footage revealed his crossing into Myanmar from Ban Mae Konken in southern Mae Sot before he went missing.
Wang Xing’s trip to Thailand was initially to consider an acting offer, but he vanished shortly after arriving in Mae Sot, a town on the border. His partner sought assistance from authorities in both Thailand and China, leading to widespread attention in Chinese media and social networks. The joint efforts of Chinese, Thai, and Myanmar officials resulted in his safe return.
