Holden Owners Eligible for Compensation in Class Action Lawsuit: Shudders
Holden owners, listen up! You might be in for a significant payday if you’ve experienced issues with your car’s transmission system. A class action lawsuit has been filed against Holden, alleging faulty transmission systems in various models sold over the past 13 years.
If you purchased a Holden Commodore VE, Commodore VF, or Colorado between January 1, 2011, and December 24, 2024, equipped with a GM 6L 45, GM 6L 50, or GM 6L 80 transmission, you could be eligible for compensation.
The class action, led by law firm Maurice Blackburn, claims that the transmission systems in these vehicles were defective due to a design fault. Some reported issues include transmission shudders, excessive vibrations, harsh gear shifts, fluid leakage, component degradation, and increased servicing needs.
Maurice Blackburn principal lawyer, Kimi Nishimura, stated that consumers have a right to expect quality and defect-free vehicles. Through this class action, efforts are being made to help affected owners recover any losses or damages related to the faulty transmission systems.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, you do not need to register to be part of the class action, but registering will keep you informed about the case’s progress. Even if you’ve sold the car, had it written off, or not experienced any issues yet, you can still register. To learn more and register, visit the Maurice Blackburn website.
Holden is standing by its commitment to its customers, but it has chosen not to comment on ongoing litigation. Stay informed and stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
