AI tech company expands in San Jose with new headquarters
An artificial intelligence and tech firm is making big moves in San Jose! Astera Labs is set to triple its operations space in the South Bay by leasing a two-building office complex on North First Street and Charcot Avenue. This expansion will be a significant boost for the company’s Silicon Valley presence.
Sobrato Organization, the property owner, leased these buildings to Astera Labs, providing them with a whopping 154,200 square feet of space. This move signifies a positive shift in the South Bay commercial real estate market as more tech companies are securing office spaces in the area.
The company’s current space in Santa Clara is 51,300 square feet, so this new lease allows Astera Labs to significantly grow its footprint in the Bay Area. They even have the option to expand beyond the leased space in the future, showing a commitment to long-term growth.
This new lease is expected to commence in April of this year, pending the completion of necessary construction on the campus. With a total campus size of 224,100 square feet, including two four-story office buildings and an executive conference center, Astera Labs is set for a major expansion.
Having raised $713 million through an IPO in 2024, with shares trading at $140.93, Astera Labs is in a strong position to take on this expansion. This move will undoubtedly be a significant step forward for the company’s growth and presence in Silicon Valley.
